Turn a year of GitHub contributions into a Tetris-style animated GIF.

A Python script that turns a GitHub contribution graph into a Tetris-style animated GIF. Provide a username and a year to generate the animation.

It uses Pillow to create the GIF. The code is open source, so you can adapt the script and customise the result.

In practice

For giving your GitHub activity a different visual form and sharing a year of contributions as an animation.

  • Choose the GitHub user and year to turn into an animation.
  • Generate a Tetris-style GIF from daily contributions.
  • Adapt the script or use the Docker examples to arrange scheduled generation.
